Varicocele
It is enlargement of the veins within the skin supporting the testicles (scrotum). Similar to a varicose vein in the leg.
This disease can cause the testicles to fail to develop normally or to shrink. Up to 30% of patients with varicocele suffer from infertility.
Symptoms:
- They rarely cause pain, but the pain varies from sharp to mild discomfort.
- Pain may increase when you are standing or exerting yourself, particularly for long periods of time.
- Pain gets worse as the day goes on.
The visual appearance has been described as resembling a "bag of worms".
